Certified Event Rental Professionals
As of March, 2010, Alpine Party Rentals is proud to announce that owner, operator, David Smiley has successfully completed The Certified Event Rental Professional Program (CERP). The Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP) program, developed by the American Rental Association (ARA), is one of the party and event rental industry’s most esteemed accomplishments.
CERP program graduates are required to complete three self-guided educational disciplines and complete proctored exams with a score of 80 percent or higher. In addition, participants must submit an essay assignment and accumulate a minimum of 25 qualifying points which can be accrued from professional experience, participation in ARA-related activities or leadership, continuing education and community service. Recertification is required by graduates every five years to keep their CERP status.
David is one of only two CERPs in the state of Colorado and is looking forward to using his new certification to better serve his customers in Colorado’s central Rocky Mountains.
The CERP program builds a strong knowledge base of the equipment rental industry that cannot be achieved elsewhere. “Becoming CERP designated demonstrates the commitment these graduates have to the rental industry and to their customers,” said Carla Brozick, ARA director of education. “They have taken the time to learn and become experts in their chosen field. This is a tremendous service rental professionals can offer consumers who are looking for expert advice when planning their special event.”
Company History
Alpine Party Rentals originated in 1991 in Carbondale, CO, located just 30 miles east of Aspen. The company eventually grew to provide service to customers in Aspen, the Vail Valley, Summit County, and Steamboat. After being acquired by a parent investment company, Alpine opened a second location in Eagle, CO in June 2003 to better service the customers in the Vail Valley, Summit County, and Steamboat Springs. After realizing that Alpine – Eagle and its customers would be better served by local owners, Alpine Party Rentals was sold to Vail Valley locals David and Rachel Smiley in September 2005.
Alpine Party Rentals is located in Gypsum, Colorado just 35 miles west of Vail. We have a large 15,000 square foot warehouse and we employ from 15 – 40 employees depending on the season.
